BRAHIM EL MAZNED

Brahim El Mazned has been artistic director of the Timitar World Music Festival since 2004. This festival, mainly dedicated to Amazigh culture, which he has helped to promote on a global scale, has become one of the major events in the field of world music, attracting around half a million spectators each year.

In 2014, Brahim El Mazned initiated the creation of Visa For Music (VFM), the very first professional festival for music from Africa. This event now takes place annually in November, in Rabat Morocco.

His contribution to the cultural field and his commitment to sustainable cultural development have placed him in the Guide to Cultural Diversity “Les Aventuriers de la Culture”, where he is among the top 100 world leaders in the sector.

As a member of the EU/UNESCO Bank of Expertise for the period 2019-2022, as well as an expert in cultural policy and creative industries at UNESCO for several years, Brahim El Mazned brings valuable expertise in these areas. He also plays an essential role as a jury member and artistic advisor for numerous cultural events in Morocco and around the world.
